With one Labrador and one Springer Spaniel parent, the Springador is a fun and lively dog that likes to run. These dogs are highly social and love being with their people. Springadors are great for families that love to play and get outside.

Breed Facts:

  • The Springador has a wavy coast that can be brown, black or gold.
  • You’ll need to brush their coat each day and schedule regular grooming appointments to avoid mats.
  • Although each Springador is different, the breed doesn’t shed much.
  • These dogs are 18-24 inches tall and weigh 50-90 pounds.
  • The breed originated somewhere between the 1980s and early 2000s as a result of intentional crossbreeding between the English Springer Spaniel and Labrador Retriever.
  • Other names for the Springador include Labradinger and Springerdor.
  • Springadors are smart dogs that make great hunting partners.
  • These dogs don’t like to be alone during the day, and long stints alone can bring out some destructive habits.
  • Springadors may have a propensity to hip dysplasia or cataracts, thanks to their Labrador genetics. Springer Spaniels are more prone to epilepsy.
  • These dogs have a 12-14 year lifespan.
